American wire gauge (AWG), also known as the Brown & Sharpe wire gauge, is a logarithmic stepped standardized wire gauge system used since 1857 predominantly in North America for the diameters of round, solid, nonferrous, electrically conducting wire. Dimensions of the wires are given in ASTM standard B 258.[1] The cross-sectional area of each gauge is an important factor for determining its current-carrying capacity.

Bend radius, measured to the inside curvature, is the minimum radius one can bend a cable without kinking it, damaging it, or shortening its life. The smaller the bend radius, the greater is the material flexibility (as the radius of curvature decreases, the curvature increases).

A braid is a complex structure formed by interlacing strands of flexible copper wires or tinned copper wires.A braid is usually long and narrow, with each component strand functionally equivalent in zigzagging forward through the overlapping mass of the others. When the Industrial Revolution arrived, mechanized braiding equipment was invented to increase production.

Direct-buried cable (DBC) is a kind of communications or transmissions electrical cable which is especially designed to be buried under the ground without any kind of extra covering, sheathing, or piping to protect it. Most direct-buried cable is built to specific tolerances to heat, moisture, conductivity, and soil acidity. Unlike standard telecommunications and power cables, which have only a thin layer of insulation and a waterproof outer cover, DBC consists of multiple layers of heavy metallic-banded sheathing, reinforced by heavy rubber covers, shock absorbing gel, wrapped thread-fortified waterproof tape, and stiffened by a heavy metal core.

Thermoplastic-sheathed cable (TPS) consists of an outer toughened sheath of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) (the thermoplastic element) covering one or more individual cables which are PVC insulated annealed copper conductors. It is a commonly used type of wiring for residential and light commercial construction in many countries. The flat version of the cable with two insulated conductors and an uninsulated earth conductor all within the outer sheath is referred to as twin and earth.

In the electrical wiring of buildings, a cable tray system is used to support insulated electrical cables used for power distribution, control, and communication. Cable trays are used as an alternative to open wiring or electrical conduit systems, and are commonly used for cable management in commercial and industrial construction. They are especially useful in situations where changes to a wiring system are anticipated, since new cables can be installed by laying them in the tray, instead of pulling them through a pipe. According to the National Electrical Code (NEC), a cable tray is a unit or assembly of units or sections and associated fittings forming a rigid structural system used to securely fasten or support cables and raceways.

Usually, rather than attempting to ground the entire shield, the drain wire is used to terminate and ground the shield. A braid is a woven mesh of bare or tinned copper wires. The braid provides a low-resistance path to ground and is much easier to termination by crimping or soldering when attaching a connector.

Polyethylene or polythene (abbreviated PE; is the most common plastic. The annual global production is around 80 million tonnes. Its primary use is in packaging (plastic bags, plastic films, containers including bottles, etc.).

Cross-linked polyethylene, commonly abbreviated XLPE, is a form of polyethylene with cross-links. It is used as insulation for high tension (high voltage) electrical cables. XLPE is an alternative to polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Polyvinyl chloride also known as polyvinyl or vinyl, commonly abbreviated PVC, is the world’s third-most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer, after polyethylene and polypropylene. PVC comes in two basic forms: rigid and flexible. It is used in plumbing, electrical cable insulation, , inflatable products, and many applications where it replaces rubber.

A shielded cable is an electrical cable of one or more insulated conductors enclosed by a common conductive layer. The shield may be composed of braided strands of copper (or other metal, such as aluminium foil), a non-braided spiral winding of copper tape. Usually this shield is covered with a jacket. The shield acts as a Faraday cage to reduce electrical noise from affecting the signals, and to reduce electromagnetic radiation that may interfere with other devices. The shield must be applied across cable splices. In shielded signal cables the shield may act as the return path for the signal, or may act as screening only. High voltage power cables with solid insulation are shielded to protect the cable insulation, people and equipment.

Flexible cables are electrical cables specially designed to cope with physical stress associated with moving applications. Due to increasing demands within the field of automation technology in the 1980s, such as increasing loads, moving cables guided inside cable carriers often failed, although the cable carriers themselves did not. In extreme cases, failures caused by “corkscrews” and core ruptures brought entire production lines to a standstill, at high cost. As a result, specialized, highly flexible cables were developed with unique characteristics to differentiate them from standard designs.

Steel wooden drums are anti-termite treated. It’s necessary especially in tropical countries. Otherwise, cables may be wasted due to termites attack on drums. Steel wooden drums are customized according to orders so that they will be strong enough to withstand the weight of cables. They must be protected with wooden battens before delivery.

In order to secure cables, drums must be properly fastened in containers no matter LCL or FCL. Rados pay special attention to it and issued a complete cable delivery handle book to the best benefit of our clients.

Plastic spools are made of qualified raw materials to ensure safe cable shipment. They can be customized to specific requirements of clients. Apart from it, custom label and printing on flanges are also available.

Cardboard spools packaging is usually used to protect the product against mechanical wear, tear, moisture or dirt.

Easy pull is stronger than common cartons. It is easy to carry, pull and store. It’s often used for network cable packing.

Coil in carton packing is mostly chosen for coils within 300 meters run. A box can load from 1 coil to more than 10 coils and the mostly common one for bulk packing is 6 coils in 1 box, and 1 coil in 1 box for retail packing.

Polypropylene (PP) woven are often used to semi-finished cable products. It’s a quite common packing style.

Coil in plastic bag can protect products against mechanical wear, tear, moisture and dirt. Products’ shape, color and size are visible directly. Plastic bags are usually printed and shrunken to make the appearance tidy and professional.

Many customers prefer to use pallets to ship goods as its safer, easier and faster to handle. There are three types of pallets: composite pallets, solid wood pallets and steel pallets. Solid wood pallets must be fumigated before exportation. Fumigation is not necessary for composite pallets. Steel pallets are mostly chosen for heavy drums of 4 tons weight and even more.
